Bookkeeping level 2 certificate (AAT) – online

The aim of the qualification is to further develop the introductory bookkeeping practices and processes studied at Level 1.
If you are self-employed or working in a small business, this course will teach you to develop practical accountancy skills in the double-entry bookkeeping system and in using associated documents and processes.
Learners will cover transactions for accuracy, make entries in appropriate books and ledgers and calculate sales invoices and credit notes.
Content
The course is structured around two units:
- Introduction to Bookkeeping.
- Principles of Bookkeeping Controls.
Please note: This is a fast paced course, with classes twice a week. There will be a computer based exam at the end of each unit that will take place in a classroom at the Sutton College.

Eligibility requirements
You must have achieved the Bookkeeping Level 1 Award AAT qualification before you can be approved for the Bookkeeping Level 2 course.
You will need to be working at Level 1 in your English and maths skills.
If you do not achieve Level 1 in your English and maths Skills Builder Assessment you must have UK English and maths Level 1 qualifications or above.
You will be asked to provide your certificates during the Course Approval Assessment.
You must also be competent in the use of ICT in order to complete unit assignments and access course information provided online.
This course is a qualification therefore you must attend all sessions and complete all assessment tasks to the required standard.
