In this course, we explore the trend of growing private sector businesses in the UK, the reasons behind the steady increase in the business population and how today's global economy presents opportunities and challenges for companies.

With new markets come shrinking profit margins and increasing operating expenses, making the need for good business administration more important than ever before. Throughout this course, you'll be equipped with the skills and knowledge you need to navigate these challenges and help businesses thrive. This course has continuous running intakes.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for a range of levels. College staff will support you at the enrolment stage to confirm your eligibility for the course.

Aims of the course

This course aims to equip learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective administrative services in a business environment. Throughout the course learners will gain an understanding of fundamental principles of business document production and information management, effective communication strategies in a business setting and the structure and function of employer organisations. Additionally, learners will develop skills to form and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, ensuring a productive and collaborative workplace environment.

Progression opportunities

Upon completion learners can progress onto:

  • Level 2 apprenticeship in business administration
  • Level 3 apprenticeship in business administration
  • Level 3 certificate in principles of business administration
  • Level 3 diploma in skills for business: human resources
  • Level 4 NVQ diploma in business administration

Facilities

The course is delivered through blended learning including online assessments and face-to-face workshops.
