Coding: Python - Intermediate (Digital Skills Academy)

This intermediate Python programming course is designed to build upon foundational knowledge of Python and provide you with advanced skills in programming, data manipulation and integration with commonly used libraries. The course will be conducted over a span of seven weeks, with each session including hands-on exercises, projects and real-world problem-solving scenarios.
You will:
- Gain an understanding and implement advanced object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts in Python and utilise complex data structures and algorithms for efficient problem-solving
- Perform data manipulation and analysis using libraries like Pandas and NumPy and automate data processing tasks and integrate with external files and databases
- Get hands-on experience with web scraping and API integration and develop an understanding of unit testing and debugging techniques
- Implement basic machine learning models using scikit-learn for classification and regression
Eligibility requirements
To enrol on this course, learners should have:
- Basic Python knowledge: Familiarity with core Python syntax, data types, and basic functions
- Programming foundations: Understanding of control structures (loops, conditionals) and basic debugging techniques
- Some exposure to data handling: Ability to work with lists, dictionaries, and simple file I/O operations
- Problem-solving skills: Capability to approach programming challenges logically and systematically
You will need to be eligible to study in the UK. Upon enrolment, you will be asked to upload residency and income documents for college funding purposes.
