The course also introduces learners to counselling theory and encourages the development of self-awareness and communication skills.
This programme is designed for learners who use counselling skills as part of their role within SMEs, across a range of sectors, including education, health, social care, and community services.
It can also act as a foundation for those who wish to progress towards accredited counsellor status with a recognised professional counselling body.
The qualification is accredited by NCFE CACHE, a leading awarding organisation with more than 170 years of experience in education and training.

Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to study this course free of charge, learners must currently live in England, be aged 19 or over, and earn less than £27,000 gross per year. No previous counselling qualification is required.
