A data technician is typically responsible for managing and maintaining an organisation’s data systems. This role is suitable for individuals who have a strong interest and aptitude for working with data, databases and information technology. The specific responsibilities of a data technician may vary depending on the organisation. This may be office based or virtual. A data technician will be responsible for collecting and processing data under the guidance of a senior colleague or multiple colleagues at workplace. A data technician will be responsible for their own work but may have the opportunity to mentor others.

This apprenticeship course is for:

  • New entrants to the data industry depending on data technician job role
  • Prior experienced in data processing role desirable
  • Individuals working in various organisations in data technician role

CCCT will run this programme over 24 months, with a learning period of 21 months and an end point assessment (EPA) of 3 months.

The data technician level 3 apprentices can progress to become roles such as a senior data technician or a data analyst.
