Fashion Technology Academy (FTA), launched by Fashion-Enter Ltd in 2015 with support from the GLA and Haringey Council, is the UK’s first government-backed academy dedicated to technical fashion training. With campuses in Haringey, Islington and Leicester, FTA offers accredited qualifications (Levels 1 to 5), short courses and apprenticeships (Levels 2 to 5) in stitching, pattern cutting, production and technical skills.

The Haringey and Islington campuses both deliver hands-on, industry-led training within live production environments. Learners gain practical experience alongside professionals working on real orders for leading UK brands. Short courses include upcycling, repair and sustainable garment creation, supporting circular fashion practices.

Located in the heart of Islington, FC Designer Workspace offers not only training but also affordable workspaces and retail opportunities for emerging designers. The retail store showcases independent brands and supports local enterprise as part of Fashion-Enter’s wider circular economy initiative.

The Leicester campus, launched in 2022, focuses on upskilling and ethical reform in the regional garment industry, offering technical training and compliance workshops in collaboration with local manufacturers and stakeholders.

FTA also hosts seminars and factory tours at its Haringey site, providing students, professionals and educators with insight into ethical manufacturing, sustainability and fashion innovation in a working factory setting.

FTA’s HOPE-FX programme supports young people facing mental health challenges through creative training and wraparound care, helping participants build their own fashion collections and explore careers in the industry.
