Investment Series: Transitioning from grant to private funding

As part of our online knowledge exchange series here at The Loop (London's Circular Economy Hub) we've put together a series on increasing your investment success.

We're bringing together experts in the field to help elevate all of our games in this journey towards a closed loop system.

We'll all require capital to achieve our mission and our experts will share battle ready strategies to help us win. The workshop will cover the following:

• How should SMEs align their growth strategy with their funding goals to attract both investors and grant providers?
• What role do grants play in a start-up’s funding strategy, and how should founders approach applying for them alongside seeking equity investment?
• Examples of businesses that British Design Fund has funded and what made them attractive
• How should SMEs decide between pursuing grants versus equity funding at different stages of their growth?

This Q&A will be led by Damon Bonser – British Design Fund. Damon Bonser is co-founder and CEO of British Design Fund (BDF), a company he launched in 2017 with the aim of supporting innovative and ambitious early stage product businesses.
