This practical two‑hour course is designed for new and aspiring managers, small business owners and entrepreneurs who have responsibility for managing performance.
It supports the transition from colleague to leader, helping learners build confidence in setting expectations, giving feedback and addressing issues early to support team success and professional growth.
What you learn:
- Understanding the fundamentals of early performance management.
- Setting clear expectations and goals from the outset.
- Providing constructive, confident feedback.
- Addressing performance challenges proactively.
- Supporting strong team performance and individual development.
- Building the foundations for effective leadership as a new manager.
Eligibility requirements
This course is free for those who meet all of the following criteria:
- You live in London
- You are not in full-time education
- You have not achieved this qualification before
- You are aged 19 or older on 31 August 2026
- Have permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months from the first day of learning
If you don’t have permission to live in the UK for 12 months from the first day of learning, there are exemptions which can be discussed with the IAG adviser, who will contact you.
