Develop the practical customer service, restaurant and bar skills needed for front-of-house roles, whether you're preparing to enter the sector or already working in a small business.
You work in realistic service environments, preparing restaurant and bar areas, welcoming customers, taking orders, serving food and drinks, resolving problems and completing professional close-down routines.

- Communication and diverse customer needs and requests.
- Complaints and service recovery.
- Restaurant mise en place.
- Food-service methods.
- Welcoming, seating and order taking.
- Beverage knowledge.
- Licensing and responsible service.
- Bar preparation.
- Drink service.
- Cleaning, storage, waste and close-down.
Eligibility requirements
You must:
- Be aged 19 or over.
- Live in a London borough.
- Have eligible UK residency/status.
- Have a basic understanding of English.
This course is free for the unemployed or those earning below the London Living Wage. You will be contacted to come in for an interview.
You should be comfortable communicating with customers and taking part in practical restaurant and bar activities.
