In this Lunch and Learn, accountant Yarka Krajickova covers the basics of Making Tax Digital (MTD), why it's important, and how you can take control of your numbers.
MTD is an important change to business finances, and it can feel like you're at the mercy of HMRC's demands. But with the right approach, you can turn this into an opportunity to take charge and streamline your bookkeeping processes.
In 2002, Yarka left the Czech Republic to work as an au-pair in the UK with just a backpack and £60 in her pocket. Despite facing homelessness in London, she eventually found a home in Bristol and put herself through university to study accountancy.
Now a licensed accountant with 17 years of experience, Yarka has supported a wide range of corporate clients in the tourism, hospitality and event-hosting industries.
Key takeaways from this session:
Understand the basics of Making Tax Digital and why it's in place
Strategies for building new bookkeeping habits and staying on track
Three top tips for staying accountable
